Etsy Listing Photo Resizer
Etsy crops the first photo of every listing to 4:3 in search results, which is how so many shops end up with awkwardly cut-off products. Sizing your photos to 3000×2250 pixels ahead of time keeps the crop under your control and leaves plenty of resolution for buyers to zoom in on details.

How it works
- 1
Add your product photos
The resizer is preset to Etsy's recommended 3000 × 2250 pixels. Batches are supported.
- 2
Choose crop or pad
Crop-to-fill produces the exact frame; pad keeps the whole product visible on a background color.
- 3
Check the requirements
No background rule — styled or natural settings are fine as long as the item is clearly visible.
- 4
Download
Individually or all photos as one ZIP.

Good to know
- As of our last check (July 2026), Etsy recommends 3000×2250 px, with the shortest side at least 2000 px so the zoom feature works well.
- The first photo is displayed at 4:3 in search — crop it to that ratio yourself instead of letting Etsy's auto-crop decide.
- Soft, natural light shows handmade textures more honestly than direct flash and reduces harsh shadows.
- JPEG is usually the better choice for photos; it stays well under Etsy's 20 MB cap and loads faster for shoppers.

Frequently asked questions
What size should Etsy listing photos be?
As of our last check (July 2026), Etsy recommends 3000×2250 pixels — a 4:3 ratio — with the shortest side at least 2000 px. Etsy adjusts its guidance occasionally, so glance at the Help Center if it has been a while.
Why does my first photo look cropped in Etsy search?
Search results display listing thumbnails at 4:3. If your photo is square or vertical, Etsy crops it automatically, often at an unflattering spot. Cropping to 4:3 before uploading fixes this.
Do all ten photo slots need to be 4:3?
No — only the first photo is cropped to 4:3 in search. Other slots display more flexibly, though a consistent ratio makes the listing gallery look tidier.
Is PNG or JPEG better for Etsy photos?
For photographs, JPEG gives you much smaller files with no visible difference at Etsy's display sizes. PNG only makes sense for graphics with flat colors or hard edges, such as digital-download previews.
Are my photos uploaded when I resize them here?
No — everything happens locally in your browser. The files never leave your computer until you upload them to Etsy yourself.
