Terms of Use

These terms describe how PNGful actually works, but they have not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. Have them professionally reviewed before relying on them for legal purposes.

Acceptance of these terms

By using PNGful (pngful.com), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site. Because PNGful has no accounts, there is nothing to sign — your continued use of the site is your acceptance. If you are using PNGful on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to accept these terms for it.

The service

PNGful provides free, browser-based image tools: compression, resizing, cropping, format conversion, metadata removal, and related utilities. The tools run locally in your browser — your files are processed on your own device and are never uploaded to our servers.

The service is provided free of charge and “as is.” We work to keep it fast, accurate, and available, but we make no promises about uptime, and we may add, change, or remove tools at any time. No account is required, and nothing in these terms creates any obligation for us to keep any particular tool available.

The site may display third-party advertising and use third-party analytics as described in our privacy policy. Those services are operated by their providers under their own terms, and we are not responsible for third-party content shown in ad placements.

Your content

You keep all rights to your images. PNGful claims no ownership of, or license to, anything you process with our tools. Because processing happens entirely in your browser, PNGful never receives, stores, or has access to your files in the first place — there is nothing for us to claim rights over, and nothing for us to retain.

You are responsible for the content you process. Make sure you have the right to use and modify the images you work with.

Acceptable use

When using PNGful, you agree not to:

  • Use the tools to create, process, or distribute content that is unlawful where you live or where it is directed.
  • Abuse the site — including scraping it at scale, probing or interfering with its infrastructure, circumventing security or abuse-mitigation measures, or degrading the experience for other visitors.
  • Use any signature-related tool to forge, replicate, or apply another person’s signature without their authorization. Signature tools are for your own signature, or signatures you are expressly authorized to use.
  • Misrepresent PNGful’s output — for example, presenting an edited image as an unedited original in a context where that matters legally.

We may block or limit access to the site for anyone who violates these terms.

Intellectual property

The PNGful site itself — its design, text, guides, code, branding, and logo — belongs to PNGful and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, republish, or resell the site’s content or branding without our permission. This has nothing to do with your images, which remain entirely yours.

Disclaimers

PNGful is provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Because our tools run in your browser, results depend on your browser, its version, and your device. Different browsers can produce slightly different output for the same operation, and very large files may exceed what your device can handle. Always verify your output before relying on it — check that a compressed image looks acceptable, that a converted file opens where you need it, and that metadata you intended to remove is actually gone, before submitting, publishing, or deleting your original.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PNGful and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the site — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Because the service is free, if liability is nonetheless found, our total aggregate liability will not exceed one hundred US dollars (US $100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PNGful and its operators from claims, damages, and reasonable expenses (including attorneys’ fees) arising from your violation of these terms or your misuse of the site.

Changes to the service and these terms

We may update the site and these terms over time. When we change the terms, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continuing to use PNGful after a change means you accept the updated terms. If a change is significant, we will make it reasonably visible on the site.

Governing law

PNGful is operated in the United States, and these terms are governed by the laws of the United States and, where applicable, the state in which the site’s operators reside, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.
